Natalie “Joy” Joe is an eighth grade math teacher who takes joy in seeing her students excel in every area of their lives. Natalie believes that every child has the ability to learn and understand the content that they are being taught and is excited to see the “oh, I get it” moments from her students. Natalie’s passion is to reveal to every child that they can learn and that there are different strategies that can be utilized to ensure that learning takes place for every child. Natalie’s overall desire is to see that every child grows within her classroom. The true meaning of No Child Left Behind.
Natalie has been within the school district since 2015. Her journey is one of a late bloomer but serves as hope to those who feel as though their journey has been long but are still relentlessly pursuing their dreams. Natalie began as a long-term substitute teacher in 2014. God showed her favor with two schools in particular, Darlington Middle School and Rosenwald. However, God led Natalie to stay at Darlington Middle where they took her under their wings and there she worked in several positions before finally being certified to teach in mathematics. After Natalie was their permanent long-term substitute and behavior manager (shadow) for approximately two
years, she became full-time as their computer lab teacher in 2017. After being in that position for one year, she was promoted to Family Outreach Facilitator/Parent Liaison for two years. Within that last year of operating as a Parent Liaison, God opened the door in 2014 for Natalie to become a math teacher. The journey to teaching was long and at times felt hopeless due to several doors closing and many opportunities seeming full of promises but led to disappointments. Nevertheless, God has been faithful, and Natalie stands as a witness that if you trust and wait on God, He will give you the desires of your heart. TRUST HIS TIMING FOR
YOUR LIFE!
